Honda Fit 2009 review.

The 2009 Honda Fit has landed, and done so with everything the previous Honda fit was lacking. Judging by the sales numbers of that previous Fit — over 2,000,000 globally in six years — it wasn’t lacking too much. The car gets Honda’s voice-recognizing satellite-linked navi; 3-mode, single-motion dive-down Magic Seats in back (parents, it’s not what you think); a revised suspension and more rigidity. And with the addition of a USB port for MP3 players and another storage bin — because there simply wasn’t room for all your stuff before — the new Fit comes with even more fun. The lone engine is an updated version of the current Fit’s 1.5-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic transmission. The Fit Sport model also includes paddle shifters on the steering wheel, though we doubt shifting will be as much fun as turning in this car. Check out the gallery of hi-res pics below, and you can read the official press release from Honda after the jump for more details. Read the rest of this entry »

Citroen C2-R2 2008 review.

If your inner rally driver lusts for something different than the run of the mill Subaru or Mitsubishi, there’s a tasty new Gallic morsel to spice things up. Citroen is taking their C2 to the FIA Junior World Rally Championship this year, and the C2-R2 Max Rally kit is their ticket to homologation. The kit keeps the price down, but doesn’t skimp on serious pieces. Read the rest of this entry »

Alfa Romeo 159 review

Alfa Romeo has been turning out some impossibly beautiful cars. Unfortunately, most of the line-up is lacking the grunt to back up its killer looks, with the 8C Competizione floating beyond reproach atop the range and a huge gap down to the standard production models. Alfa is apparently looking to bridge that gap, however, with the 159 GTA. Read the rest of this entry »

Pontiac Solstice 2009 review.

A self-effacing and impeccably dressed Bob Lutz took shots at the old Pontiac during the live reveal of the 2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe. Busting on the arrowhead’s former taste for cladding and Iron Dukes in the “excitement” product line, Lutz confidently strode alongside a silver 2009 Solstice GXP Coupe as it rolled out amidst fanfare provided by the Young Lords. Lexus IS F 2008 review.

So we recently got some seat time in the Lexus IS F, and we can proudly report that it’s not anything Lexus has ever been before. Does it really compare to the M3 and C63 AMG? In a little-kid-from-down-the-street-trying-to-get-in-the-game way, yeah. But that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be in the game. Follow the jump for the full story, and check out the new gallery of Lexus IS F pics below. Read the rest of this entry »

Honda Odyssey review.

The 1999 - 2004 generation of Honda’s front-wheel-drive Odyssey was a class leader. For 2005, the minivan received a major redesign in Honda’s attempt to leapfrog the growing competition. It carries on into 2007 with minimal changes, including a tilt/telescoping steering wheel and tire pressure monitoring system for all trim levels, plus two new exterior colors Read the rest of this entry »

Kia Sportage 2008 review.

Most vehicles in this segment are powered by four-cylinder engines and consequently tend to be underpowered, especially with automatic transmission and 4WD. The answer is a larger V6 engine, as offered in the Ford Escape and Jeep Liberty. However, that adds several thousand dollars to the sticker price. Kia offers a V6 engine in the Sportage that ends up costing no more than a four-cylinder model from Honda or Toyota. That’s why Kia expects the V6-powered LX model to be the most popular model in the lineup. Read the rest of this entry »
