Not all full-size luxury SUV shoppers are looking to show off their ride to the envious masses on some trendy, club-ridden strip of road. Many are, but plenty are just searching for a vehicle with a plush interior, room for seven, a powerful engine and prestigious image that doesn’t require 22-inch rims and twin subwoofers the size of a Barcalounger. Kia has unveiled its new Amanti, a facelifted version of the mid-size sedan that made its debut in 2002.
 The new model gets a new 3.8-liter V-6, a platform lighter by 251 pounds, a modified suspension, an upgraded interior, and a new nose and different taillights. Read the rest of this entry »

The 2009 Ford Fusion has a lot of things going for it, including sporty handling and the nifty Sync MP3 and cell phone interface. Outside the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo’s famous Casino Square, the crowds of tourists with camera phones seem ignorant of the fact that most motoring journalists don’t rate the looks of the 612 Scaglietti. They’re as happy to pose alongside the slightly ungainly 2+2 Ferrari as they are to cosy up with the F430 Spider and Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder sat on the other side of the valet parking zone.
