Just over a year ago the Ford folks brought waves of journalists to Texas hill country to introduce the new Super Duty trucks - F-250, F-350 and F-450 series. After all, Texas is truck country and proud of it. I was in the second wave and missed the opportunity to experience the mud, dirt, trailering and other fun – that is, the serious evaluation – because of a debilitating ice storm that kept us in the hotel. The Ford Escape was the world’s first hybrid SUV. Contrary to popular belief, The Blue Oval’s gas - electric trucklette does NOT use Toyota’s Synergy Drive. In the latest phase of Euro NCAP safety tests the all-new Ford Kuga compact crossover has achieved the best combination of star ratings, placing the car at the top of the table in the Euro NCAP Small Off-road 4×4 group. Awarded the maximum five stars for Adult Occupant Protection, this rating is enhanced by four stars for Child Occupant Protection and three stars for Pedestrian Protection.
