We’ve seen plenty of spy photos circulating the web of Triumph’s long-expected parallel twin cruiser, so the introduction of the new 2010 Thunderbird is anything but shocking. We are a bit surprised, though, by how plain-looking the bike is, appearing very much like a modern Bonneville injected with steroids performance enhancing drugs. With its blacked-out liquid cooled parallel engine, the bike bares a passing resemblance to Kawasaki’s rather ancient Vulcan 500 model… Read the rest of this entry »

After having it in our garage for the last few weeks, the Aprilia SXV550 can best be described by the word ‘extreme’. From its extremely compact yet very powerful V-Twin engine to its extremely uncomfortable saddle, this is a bike that demands attention from its rider. Read the rest of this entry »

First we heard ruminations that India’s Tata Motors was considering a purchase of Italian bike manufacturer MV Agusta, followed shortly thereafter by similar rumors regarding Mahindra, another huge Indian automaker. The latest company rumored to be keeping tabs on a possible purchase of MV Agusta is none other than Harley-Davidson, which would provide some rather interesting storylines to consider. Why buy a tinny hatch when you can get a full-bodied rally champ asks KARTIK GANESH

I had a chance to poke around the Yes! Roadster 3.2 Turbo at the Chicago Auto Show yesterday. First up: Get the headlights and taillights in black. One of the two display cars had them in black, but the other had them in silver. Up close, the silver ones’ molded backings look unfinished and almost tacky. Read the rest of this entry »

Many causes of car accident collisions are due to:
- drunk driving
- drowsiness
- negligence
- distractions
- cell phone misuse
- aggressive driving
- poor road conditions
- mechanical failure
- speeding
One major car accident injury causing distraction from above is misuse of cell phones. Research studies show that the number of cell phone subscribers has grown from 94 million in the year 2000 to about 130 million today. It is therefore not hard to imagine how many of them use their cell phone while driving. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that 85 percent of these cell phone subscribers talk on the phone while they are operating a car. It has also been estimated that 6 percent of automobile accidents per year are caused by drivers talking on their cell phone. This means that a total of 2,600 people will die in cell-phone related car accidents this year.

We’ve all been there: deeply smitten by a witty, intelligent, urbane, drop dead gorgeous potential partner. Whether it’s an actual acquaintance or a distant celebrity, their innate hotness sets our souls ablaze. And then, eventually, familiarity breeds contempt. The wit becomes tiresome, the intelligence debatable, the urbanity mundane and the beauty– well that stays. Despite the obvious physical attractions, the time eventually comes when you realize that true love tends to forget. And yes, I’m talking about the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. At its Frankfurt introduction last year, the BRABUS Bullit was positioned as the tuner’s ultimate “sleeper.” Painted a fairly standard-looking gray with subdued black wheels and carbon-fiber accents, the Bullit did differ from some of BRABUS’ more wildly extroverted vehicles, which scream “SUPER TUNER! LOOK AT ME!” That’s not to say that the Bullit doesn’t have the creds, though — a 720-horsepower twin-turbo V12 with torque electronically limited to 811 lb-ft will certainly get the job done. (Sans the electronic safety net, it produces 974 lb-ft, in case you were wondering. Tires become one with the ozone layer at the mere thought of this.)
