Toyota Matrix 2009 review.

posted in Toyota |

With added interior room and enhanced performance, the 2009 Toyota Matrix promises to be as practical and fun to drive as its previous models. The new Matrix comes in three trims, the base, S, and XRS The base model Matrix sports a 1.8L 132hp 4-cylinder engine putting power to the front wheels with a standard 5-speed manual transmission. A 4-speed automatic is optional. The other two models offer an optional 2.4L 158hp engine.

With added interior room and enhanced performance, the 2009 Toyota Matrix promises to be as practical and fun to drive as its previous models. The new Matrix XRS offers more for the performance-minded individual by way of optional all-wheel drive. The interior of the new Toyota is roomy, with well-designed, thoughtfully located instrumentation and comfortable seats. Storage in the wagon is enhanced by fold flat rear seats and soil resistant upholstery.

On the outside, the new Matrix is a tall, nice-looking wagon with color matching side rocker panels and under body spoilers. It sports halogen headlamps that are set for daylight running and power outside mirrors. You can equip your wagon with 16, 17, or 18-inch wheels and moonroof. The result of adding many of these stylish features is to bring street more cred to an otherwise practical wagon.

Look for convenience in the 2009 Toyota Matrix, in the form of cruise control, automatic door locks, windows, and an auxiliary power outlet. Safety takes a rear seat to nobody with driver and front passenger front airbags, side and curtain airbags, and active headrests. Also standard are the tire pressure monitors and the strategically placed crumple zones to prevent intrusion into the passenger area in the event of a collision.

2009 Toyota Matrix comes with numerous options such as stability control, traction control, and a 6-speaker audio system including 6-CD changer/MP3 capability. New technology, such as the touch-screen GPS navigation system can be installed at the dealership. Although originally marketed as a small family wagon, the new Matrix is also a youthful, fun, sporty automobile with much more going on than trips to the grocery store.
